 TECNIQUES

The aim of this page is to share my photographic techniques and experiences. I hope you can gain useful information from my explanations and that can help you make perfect images too. The knowledge from other people helps us create our own experience wich we can then transmit it to others too.

How to take photographs in caves (Techniques & Equipments)  - Here you will find explanations on the equipment you need and special techniques to apply to cave photography. What I show here belongs to the lessons I prepare for the present speleological courses of the Speleo Club Chieti. I want to say that cave photography requires not only specific knowledge on how to take photos, but needs an ability on how to move inside caves. So it is not recommended to people that do not have experience in this environment. Speleology is very safe, but if it is done by inexperienced people it can become very dangerous activity.

Macrophotography with 300 mm lens - The use of a normal, not macro, lens in macrophotography with extention tubes can give great results. Althow this is not as simple as it seems. In the past I always made closeup photogaphy with flash. I thought I was making good photos, but this was not true. I discovered that natural light works better than all other types of light source. In this section I show all my tecniques.
